MIMAT Training

Cailin C E Mackenzie PhD developed the MIMAT training programmes after working in trade union, academic and NGO environments where she consistently noted that whilst many people engage in advocacy, and most people at one time or another engage in some form of public speaking, a worrying number of them seem to lack a basic understanding of either skill. This leads to ineffective use of expertise and resources by individuals and organisations, resulting in a loss of impact and in some cases damage to reputation.

There are two main types of training provided by MIMAT, advocacy strategy development, and public speaking skills. Both provide a sustainable set of skills to participants, with a view to enhancing their individual and organisational capacity and effectiveness.

In anonymous feedback, MIMAT training has been variously described as inspiring, great, very practical, useful, positive, providing good team building, providing successful results and enjoyable. The trainer has been described as highly qualified, very knowledgeable, friendly and supportive, skilful, wholeheartedly committed and energetic.
